I live and work as an artist in Foston on the Wolds, East Yorkshire. I have been an art teacher for over 20 years. Teaching was a brilliant career for me but I always knew that I would find the time to explore my own ideas one day.
I enjoy collecting colours and textures on my walks: flowers, stems, twigs, sheep wool, shells, seaweed etc. Found natural material is then incorporated into my weavings.
My paintings fall into two main categories: some are watercolour and watersoluble crayon landscapes of my locality and others are decorative illustrations using lettering on Asian plywood. I currently like to use the rectangular proportions of a brick in plan view zooming in to enlarge areas of interest.
