white-flower

A few days ago I walked with Meg, my collie across Mr Curtis’ public farm path and left across to the Beeford road again. Behind us the sun burst through from behind the blackest of clouds. In front and above us, rain and clouds with the most perfect full arch of rainbow I had ever seen. I could make out all 7 colours including indigo which I rarely see.

This scene inspired me to paint a series of illustrations reflecting on colour. The first one is Reflect on White. I’m painting what I can see in my studio: a white cyclamen and hints of the seven rainbow colours around me.
