Meg in blog postsWe’ve now had our third Art Group meeting in our village hall in Foston and instead of experimenting and working on sketchbooks, I did what I do best: an illustration – of my dog as a pup.  Reason? It’s going to be a present for my new Great Niece, Evelina.  But it also makes a good addition to the animal cards and I’m coming up to an Art Fair in Warter, East Yorkshire next month so that’s my excuse!

I also visited my chosen garden, the National Garden Scheme garden that as a member of East Riding Artists I can paint and exhibit next month if I get it done on time in North Cave or in Wolds Gallery in Bainton in July.  The cottage is called Cairngorm and it’s tucked away in the village of Shiptonthorpe.  The rain was pouring down when I arrived but Ann and Pete gave me a warm welcome and I spent a delightful hour wandering through a never ending garden full of secret areas getting wet but managing to take lots of photos.  I look forward to working on a painting based on this garden in our 6 hours of art work at our 4th Foston Art Group meeting.
