snowdrops and winter aconites part done

Visited Burton Agnes snowdrop walk with a couple of friends last week so that inspired me to paint my own snowdrops and aconites.  This painting is part done – the leaves need to be sorted out colour wise as snowdrop leaves and stems have a wonderful whitish sage green hue.  I also need to work on the profusion of leaves, flowers and stems in such a way that the image has a shape with the foreground flowers forming a rough letter C.  It was fun to use masking fluid on the snowdrops – this was my second inspiration of the week!  We went to Driffield Art Group to see the landscape artist Geoff Kersey demonstrate his watercolour skills and he used masking fluid on the roofs and paths of his country barn watercolour painting.  I was surprised to see him deftly rub off the dried fluid with his finger almost not stopping to do this while he painted.  Next week this painting will be done and it will be in my gallery!
