cards-and-tiles

Ok I’m feeling really positive today despite a setback on Thursday when the Driffield Christmas Market was going to be up and running between the hours of 4 and 8pm.  Sensible decision on the part of Driffield Town Council as after the ferocious winds that we saw in Scotland and along the East coast, I don’t think there would have been any stock left as it would all have blown away into Driffield Beck! Mike, my son, and me had it all worked out how to carry the stuff ( I’ve fractured my left hand! ) and how to set out the Christmas and Seasons cards and the decorative tiles.  I’d worked all day the previous day attaching hangers to the tiles and packing 5 pack Christmas cards.

But all the effort is not wasted as on Thursday I’m selling at Driffield Market.  Tomorrow I’m seeing a guy in Bridlington who’s going to develop my art work into table mats, coasters, mugs etc. I’ve also got an Artist in Residence for a fortnight in April 2014 at Burton Agnes – well worth a visit with its beautiful Elizabethan house and grounds.

I think I’ve got the best of both worlds – doing my art and making connections with people via our mutual business/ art interests.  And if I take Meg, my collie, she does the charm offensive – always a hit!
