I have, in the past week, completed Reflect on White. I enjoyed trying to get the maximum amount of white into the image but still working on the tone to give the white impact. I absolutely love my white drawing ink pens and am experimenting with negativising the image to ‘test’ the amount of white used when it turns black!
On Monday I’m taking two paintings of Foston and my Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter ink paintings on board. A friend suggested that I stick them together vertically and they certainly look different. It’s many years since I’ve entered work for the Ferens Art Gallery and at last it’s good to have a choice of work to put in and to have the time to work through lots of ideas – that’s great!
